D&RGW Trains 7-8, the "Panoramic"

I have a D&RGW public timetable from 1931-1932 that lists trains 7-8, the "Panoramic," as a summer-only train. By coincidence I have an employee pass from the same year endorsed "not good on trains 7 and 8."
Can one of the D&RGW experts here fill me in on the "Panoramic?" What was its routing, and why was it so special that a passholder could ride the "Scenic Limited" but not the "Panoramic?"
