3:10 was a very challenging film to work on. didn't have a lot of time to survey, grade and build 1/3 mile of 1870's style railroad, prep a locomotive and train, move it to location and shoot.

As equipment was leaving Arkansas for New Mexico we were hit with a blizzard that left 38 inches of snow on the set. Delayed everything a week plus and made for very difficult conditions. Temps at the set got down to 13 below zero F.

Train consisted of Reader RR 2-6-0 No. 2 (ex-WT Carter Bros No.2 Baldwin #29900, 1907) Passenger cars and box car are props built on 40 ft flat cars. Caboose is ex-Cotton Belt

Location is Ford Ranch, Galisteo, NM (south of Santa Fe)
