One very dry winter, the creek at Cresco went dry. When there was no more water going down the pipe to the tank, keeping the water circulating, the whole works froze and busted in who knows how many places. It also cracked the fiberglas liner in the tank.
Now you know why we drained Cresco every fall and why there is a fire hose from just below the highway to the tank.
Quite a bit of water can go through the surge box above the hiway. Went we ran the Eureka, Cresco was an absolute necessity. One day we found the fire hose had come diconnected from the tank and the tank was empty. We hooked the hose up and in about 30 minutes we had Eureka full of water again.
