Re: Sumpter Valley RR gets FRA grant

This federal grant was an earmark attached to the federal transportation budget. Our Congressman was instrumental in getting this for us. Likewise other Congressmen helped get grants for other RRs throughout Oregon and the U.S.

Nothing to worry about Skip. Jerry, Taylor and others are constantly searching for grant opportunities, and applying where possible. The organization can, and has continued to operate without Ron. Several grant applications are in the works as I write. We are optimistic on several of the grants currently in process. However, we never know who our competitors are for the money. The grantors may decide another organization needs the money more than us. I just wish Bill Gates was into steam railroading!
