Knotts doesn't generally do anything in any big hurry. They like to test the waters. It took the shop guys ten years or more to get all the red paint (pilot, domes, etc.) off of the 41 and get her into basic RGS black. Turning out the 340 in 1930's D&RGW livery back in '91 went a long way towards authenticity in the rest of the equipment. The park maintained that they needed to keep the equipment looking rustic and 340 netted them so much positive comments that they agreed to authenticity on the rest of the equipment. B-20's return to green has gradually spread the green paint to the rest of the equipment, such that there is only one car left to paint.
So they've been talking about opening out the loop to extend all the way around the property for several years now. You just never know when something might happen.
