Re: Why did Ward Kimball quit running the Emma Nevada?

It is heard that as a coal burner she produced cinders that floated down onto the neighbors' freshly wash cloths that were hung out to dry.

The Chloe as a wood burner did not produce cinders.

As you can tell from the answers, there were multiple reasons to set the Emma Nevada aside and operate the Chloe. I did hear that Emma may have been steamed up in 1981 to celebrate its 100th.

The "Emma Nevada" at Orange Empire has been receiving various repairs (such as a new draw bar casting on the locomotive) and the principal workers and funders of the activities at the "Grizzly Flats enginehouse" are considering undertaking the boiler work.
