Check the archives, I posted about Sam Furukawa a few weeks back. Like I said back then, Sam is not JUST a guy from Japan. He is very much a gentleman in the finest Japanese tradition. And actually, I beleive it is the Narrow Gauge Preservation Foundation of which Sam and Charlie Getz are key members that the funding is supposed to be coming from. Here is one of my pictures taken of Sam talking to Conductor Alan Loomis at Cumbres Pass in May on opening day 2007....
