Nice photos of the two stockcars in Dulce that the C&TS is trading for. These two double-deck cars were originally at Lumberton. They were left sitting on their trucks with no track underneath when the scrapper went through. I have detailed pictures of both cars that I took in 1972 or 1973--they were in much better shape then. I believe their numbers were 5530 and 5792 (without checking my photos). The 5530 had a very interesting paint scheme--it was painted in the old gray-black typical of the early pre flying Rio Grande schemes. Then it had the "D&RGW" and "5530" boards added in straight black and the area of the flying "Rio Grande" also painted in straight black over the gray-black. It was an interesting scheme with the contrasting gray-black and straight black colors. The 5792 was in a typical straight black flying Rio Grande scheme as I recall.
