Here is your answer from B&W Memebr Nick D'Amore:
Sure can. Built 1962 (if it's serial #6327, which I think unit 25-1010
is) for International Nickel in Huntington WV. Traded in, along with another 12 tonner and the 10 ton unit that is now B&W's, in 1996 on two new Plymouths... possibly the last two built. They were moved to H&K Equipment, Plymouth's local dealer, in March 1996.
About that same time, I was assigned to work in New York City for a couple months. Traveling back to St. Marys one weekend, I saw three similar units at a related dealer near Reading... stored right next to the PA turnpike. Someone local bought all three while I was trying to get enough interest to buy these three, which were 24" gage. (Two eventually ended up in Maine, and last I knew, the third, without the engine, is still in the Lancaster area). The manager at the Reading location called to tell me of the sale and mentioned that H&K had the three 30" units. B&W acquired all three at the end of the year, and moved them later that summer. B&W regaged the 10 ton unit, which had a simple chain drive, and Plymouth Locomotive eventually bought the other two, apparently when John Larkin asked about buying one.
Attached is a photo of your unit where I first saw it, at H&K Equipment in Carnegie, PA. The basic data sheet is also attached. I don't have the other pages referenced, and don't know if anyone still has this information since the plant was closed and auctioned off. The contact I had at that time (1997) was Don Barnthouse, you could try to look him up. There were a lot of Plymouth parts that went with the 24" locos to Lancaster, but I can't find that information right now. There were several hulks left at Plymouth when I stopped by the plant two or three years ago, but I don't know who bought the parts inventory when the plant closed. Engine parts should be readily available (GM).
Incidently, I wanted to keep the flashing red light on B&W's unit but was outvoted... congrats for keeping yours in place!
