Your shot was natural while ours was somewhat staged, thus we had good smoke and stack talk.
Normal scene I believe is kinda slow like your shot indicated. I guess thats another reason I am not that wound-up about hiking all that way for a trundle video shot. The scenery back there is pretty good in some spots, like Phantom curve, and I have never shot Mud Tunnel, so thats one I would like to do somehow someday, but the how is the hard part!!
" /> Anyway I respect your effort at getting something hard to get!!!
One of the coolest shots I ever got was the first year I shot video on the C&TS in 1985. We rode the train and I was in the open gon near the end of the train, and it was snowing a little as we entered Rock Tunnel, and that was the ending of my video. This video has long been off the market but was titled "Full Throttle to Cumbres".
Maybe we should see about a fall charter to photograph the Passenger train instead of always doing freight charters!! Guess it would have to be after the season cause the everyday cars would be in use. Oh well, maybe someday!
