I am certain that ther are others that can add to this but here is what I learned from going to the Colorado Government to try to get help about the Loop; this was in 2004.
They dont care. Clear Creek County doesnt have enough votes to matter to the folks in denver so the Legislators dont care.
CHS is a Whos Who of high society in this state and if you are in office, unless you are filthy rich , they know the peopel most likely to fund you so going after them woudl be political suicide.
The left hand and the right hand dont know whats going on , so they are not accountable becasue you cant get a straight answer from anyone in Denver as to who exactly is their boss. SO they basically answer to themselves. Some what along the same lines as the Department of Homeland Insecurities.
It may not be 1984, but CHS is the embodyment of the mindset and control inherant in " big brother" from that novel. I agree they need to be cut down to size,humbled and made to be held accountable for their actions, but nothign short of them falling into a black hole never to be seen again, is really going to remove them from their entrenched position in this state and its governings.
