History (sort of)

Fred is right, the Goat was created as something of a pop valve back when the future of of the C&TS was in question. At that time, people were occasionally getting - um - unruly in discussing the problems the RR was having. Shortly after the Dead Goat Saloon was "born", El Coke dubbed this board the "Gilded Lily Fern Bar and Ice Cream Parlor". I never much minded it (and still don't), even though the intention was to emphasize that this board has more of a "Gentlemen are requested to wear ties after six" atmosphere. The full name has been abbreviated to "the Lily" since typing the whole thing out is not convenient.
