I don't think they have big plans for a tourist road there .I know they would like to build to Lone Pine station ,but that is not real far from Independence . I think you might see it steamed up occaisonally for holidays and run on ashort piece of track . Like acouple of other s mall e nine restorations that are in th e wo rks ,I think they will model their operations after Dan Markoff's beautiful E&P #4 and take SP #18 "on tour" . I think i t is wise to hold off a ny negativity unless they go "over the top" , like some other unrealistic proposals we have all seen over the years . As I have said here before ,small engine restorations are far more practical as the engine can find places to run .Also ,it is my understanding from their newsletter that they are all "locals" and have very strong support there in the Owens Valley .
