Rod,
Due to the advanced deterioration we found on the Porter, by the time the overhaul is completed SVRR/SVMW will have a fair sum of our funds invested into completion of the project.
We felt this was a better route than performing a less than satisfactory rebuild on the locomotive.
The 1203 has literally needed every component either rebuilt or replaced, that fact has driven the overhaul well over any estimated costs we had anticipated.
As it stands now the SVMW has two diesel locomotive overhauls to complete in addition to the 1203 as well as routine inspections and maintenance on both our operable steam engines, an extensive overhaul on a locomotive boiler (including a new firebox) for a client plus locomotive maintenance agreements with two regional shortlines.
Not to mention locomotive #20 or several minor projects for the restoration department.
I don't believe we will be seeking any additional work from CHS in the near future, but we'll see how things develop.
