If I had my money riding on a choice between operating a steam railroad and selling beer, there really is no question which I'd go with. You can sell WAY more beer in this world than train rides. That's just a fact of life!
But what is to keep the bigger picture thinking from looking to such outside funding venues to support a railroad ?
The fit seems almost TOO perfect. Microbrews seem to throng to names like Fat Tire and Moose Drool. An honest association to a steam railroad sounds like a perfect "natural". Just work out the details of sub-contracting to keep the States from some sort of conflict of interest in the brewing business, and it might just fly.
Is Colorado and surrounding areas receptive to homegrown micros like other parts of the country ?
