Of note is the San Juan is running 7-9 cars. This was when they were still moving LCL in baggage cars (and perhaps even making a profit). It was common to have 2-3 extra baggage cars an the head end between the locomotives and the RPO.
Quite different from the 4-5 car trains in 1950-51.
