Thanks for the info. From your directions I was too far east and south (by the fairgrounds). As I'm sure that you know, when trying to find sites in a town or city that has encroached an area, using pictures/data that are at least 50 years old, it is difficult unless you have someone that remembers the area.
In 1996 I was traveling with my father who was 79 years old at that time. Unfortunately, he had never rode over the Marshall Pass line and was not a good resource for that area.
On the other hand, while looking for the Montrose-Ridgway-Ouray branch & the RGS he was extremely useful as he had spent considerable time in those areas from 1947 - 1952.
