Greg:
I appreciate and respect your comments and I understand your points, but I do respectfully disagree.
For 22 years in the Air Force and then 15 at Hewlett-Packard, I had to do it the way management or someone else wanted. They were always saying "it is good enough," or "good enough for government work." That is why we have often have buggy software and flaky computers.
I swore then that someday, when I was calling the shots that I would do it as good as I could, rather than half-way as so many things in our country are done today.
I am not working on this primarily as a commerical project. If there is some money that comes out of it at the end, that will be nice and I would not turn it down, but I am primarily doing this out of personal curiosity and for the fun of it.
I originally was going to only do the narrow gauge, but the D&RGW railroad was a system and what happened on one part impacted other parts and separating them makes for a partial picture and story.
I will get it done in due time and it will be worth the wait in my not so humble opinion.
