Lots of crap going on in the border areas. Just in the last week 2000 Mexican troops sent to Tijuana because the local civil law enforcement has collapsed.
Running gunbattles between Nogales and Lukeville between National Guardsmen and Mexican troopers.
Narco trafficers better armed than the local Texas constabularies.
Thousand murders a year just in Juarez area next to El Paso (I never leave the bus depot there to visit around El Paso waiting for bus transfers).
A 2000 mile war zone.
Imagine the UP and KCS trying to do interchange with its Mexican roads/subsidiaries in such a spot.
