Perhaps I should weigh in for a moment, no one at White Pass is being "tight lipped" about the accident but we can't say anything as it is under investigation by two federal agencies and it would be irresponsible to do so. Transport Canada and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. We of course had our own internal interviews and reports. Both agencies are running parallel investigations and have not shared the draft reports with us as yet. When that happens all involved will be able to respond prior to the final report from both agencies. I am sure they will have suggestions for us on operational matters and we welcome those, as Tomas Bones said in an earlier posting with a loss of life it is best to take the time needed to come up with the right answer. Some computer simulations have been run at the B. C. Institute of Technology but did not work with Narrow gauge simulations and are being re configured. #114 is being rebuilt in tacoma and should be ready for this season..We of course all have our own ideas as to what might have happened but will wait until the draft is presented to us so we can answer..Thank you all for your concern and have a happy and safe New Year...Gary Danielson
