I have not seen any evidence that either engine actually ran on the SVRy with those short spark arrestor stacks. Does anyone know anything about this?
As I recall both engine 19 and 20 in late photos had the backup sander line removed. As I recall the back up sander line is kinda in the way of acessing the brake shoe on the driver it comes down behind. As options were pretty frequent to turn engines on the SVRy, the need to run backward with a consist was probably rare. Wyes were located at S Baker, McEwen, S Wye, Sumpter, Larch, Whitney, Tipton (loop plus a wye in later years), White Pine (untill the mid 30's) Austin, maybe Bates (I don't have a clear picture of how OLC's tracks were laid out) Dixie and Prarrie.
