The Canadian mainlines are like the UP. They run enough trains that they generally do not have to plow them. The secondary lines and former branch lines are another matter. See image below, taken in 1987. These lines are now gone, but it was wind that filled in the cuts, more than new snowfall. Made for some fun shooting.
Just got back from getting our Christmas tree. Rainy today and tomorrow, thankfully, not 24 inches of snow like Denver.
Heard on the radio that the Cincinnati Bengals were flying to Denver tomorrow for the game Sunday afternoon. Here's hoping they bring their "offensive storm" to Denver, unlike Monday night at Indy.
Now for the apple pie part. Nothing would be finer than sitting in the cupola of a D&RGW caboose eating a piece of apple pie while watching Rotary OY plow open the line to Cumbres on a snowy day like Denver has right now. That would be something from Christmas past, eh!!!
I guess living at the foot of the rockies has its perks, but all that snow isn't one of them.
Hang in there guys!
