Jim, I was thinking the same thing. In my post about the Sumpter signal, what I should have said was that with the blade of the semaphore installed parrallel to the track in front of the depot, it could be viewed by an approaching train from below the first wye switch so acutally it could have been seen from the main about where our present Sumpter depot sits.
Jeff, thanks for posting these great photos and I hope we see more. Mr Trump, thanks for the info on how these kind of signals were used and worked. This is what I enjoy about old photos, is digging into the background behind the shot.
