#19 and #15 were delivered to the Oahu Railway during WW2 and were mainly used in switching service in the Honolulu area. After the OR&L main line was torn up in 1948, they served the switching operation moving pineapples from the Honolulu docks to the canneries and livestock to the Kalihi stockyards just on the west outskirts of Honolulu. When all OR&L railroad operations ceased in 1972, both engines were sold, and eventually both wound up in CO. #19 on the C&TS, and #15 on the Georgetown Loop. Not sure where #15 is now, but maybe at CRRM or Royal Gorge. The numbers on these diesels reflect the numbers of the first two new steam locomotives ordered for Oahu Railway service, a pair of Baldwin 4-4-0's, built in 1889. #15 originally bore the name "Leahi", Hawai'ian for Diamond Head, and #19 was Ka'ala, named for the highest peak on O'ahu. Both lasted into the 1920's before being scrapped. -- Ed
