Through the link and under “more photos” there is a good photo showing the oil steam gauge lamp, something you don't see everyday. I remember hearing W.E.Butler’s (author of Down Among the Sugar Cane) old caboose had made it to California. I wonder if it is still around.
Also, I have noticed many of the light locomotives from Porter were originally equipped with hydrostatic lubricators. The Six Flags Over Texas locomotives were rebuilt with mechanical lubricators. Are the hydrostatic-type difficult to use?
