The Edwards Rail Car Co. is a firm that I am owner of. I refounded the company in 1997. I have put a lot of thought into a narrow gauge car. After seeing the C&TS for the first time several weekends ago, nothing would make me more pleased than to see one of our cars going around the high line...or any portion of the line! Our firm cranked out dozens of narrow gauge cars, in the 1930s, for south and latin american railroads. Our little Model-10 would be ideal. The only problem is that there are so few 3 ft. gauge railroads here in the states, where such a car could operate and haul passengers. Also, these railroad, like the D&S have no real need to haul smaller amounts of people. (D&S has a doodlebug in Durango that they rarely use). There is little financial insentive to build such a car on spec. My heart is really into it however...I would love to have a narrow gauge Model-10 that could be taken to each of the narrow gauge railroads and offer rides...even just for special events....maybe if I can win the lotto! The C&S standard gauge line had an Edwards Model-20, this is the closet we ever got to Colorado. I am pleased to report that our firm has sold cars to 51 different railroads, in 19 countries in the Western Hemispher.
Regards to all, see some of you folks at the convention.
