I used to have an owner's manual for a 1913 Maxwell. The 1st chapter, several pages, was devoted to unloading the vehicle from the box car. It included info on what size timbers to use if no loading dock was available, etc.
Since the cars were often packed at 45 degrees, getting them out was quite involved!
