George, you are not kidding about grass and sage resulting in slick rails. Everytime I've run through lots of that stuff with my motorcar, its almost impossible to get any traction. A couple of weeks ago after a NARCOA-RMD excursion on the old Rio GRande Creede branch between South Fork and Creede, some of us ran across CO 149 to check on some MOW equipment stored in South Fork onto track that had not been cleaned up in quite a while. The weeds and sage were so bad, that we all had trouble getting back across the hiway, as our wheels were slick as wax.
I know this is not NG, but the track conditions and scenery sure seem like it, and back when Palmer went to Wagon Wheel Gap to go soak in the hot springs, it WAS NG.
