Re: The "FIRST" CATS Train pics

There is a report on all the first moves made with C&TS equipment to get cars over to Chama and so forth. Most of the first moves were to Lava, Big Horn and Sublette. I believe one of the first runs was with 483 and two drop gons ahead of the engine(Theory was that they would derail before the engine, so the engine could stop).
I saw this report from another person, but cannot remember who actually made the report. It is very interesting reading, and chronicles those early days.
My first photos are 1971, the first month of operation. Just today I was looking at some D&RGW slides I took in 1968, and some in 1981.
