Let us not forget that railroad mogul J.J.Hill (a former director of the CPRy)of the Great Northern, and Northern Pac. was a Canadian. Further interesting trivia that I ran across a long time ago was that Cornelius Van Horn, Hill's arch rival of the Canadian Pac. was an American.
I have been in favor of anexing Oregon to British Columbia for years. The question is what to do with Washington St.in between? Apparently somepeople believe it already is. Do any of you have a copy of Adolph Hungry Wolfes Narrrow gauge pictorial published by Canadian Caboose Press? You will notice in the table of contents the the Sumter Valley is listed under Canadian Narrow gauges.
