In October 1976 I traveled the White Pass from Whitehorse to Skagway and return on the mixed regular train. Both ways we made a mid-day meal stop at Bennett. Service was "family style." Both trains were scheduled to be in Bennett at the same time.
I spent two nights in Skagway. On my full day in Skagway, the last cruise ship of the season called. The railroad sold four carloads of passengers for a Bennett round trip. With only four cars the railroad decided not to run a seprate train; the four cars were added to the rear of the regular train and switched between them at Bennett.
