A broken axle can be fixed. It will take time, money and lots of labor and a love for steam locomotives to run.
The fact that no one was hurt passengers or employees is good! So what if the line is down for a day or two. Its better than being the lead story on the 5pm and 10 pm new cause of hurt people or worse.
Fact, Railstar is working with the hand they were given. Former Loop employees felt that we got a raw deal but life goes on! To bad mouth certain people does nothing to repair the damage or promote the railroad for the tourist value it has to Colorado. When the changes took place all information was sent out thru CHS. So George look at this way, you have freedom os speech everyone does, but if you work for someone they would request you speak the company line are you going to do so? I would think so for your job. A lot of people may say things all depends on their mood.
It would be better in the long to hold back a locomotive until everyone is on the same page that its safe. Thats safe for the employees to operate it and the public to be around see it hear and enjoy the sound it puts out while operating pulling a load up the grade. Something I miss doing, but life goes on and maybe again I will be able too someday.
Lets hope for good repairs and a long operating life for both locomotives.
