The Medford / Indian Pond / Sebec Lake area that you describe is not too far from where the 2-ft Monson Railroad operated. The Monson met a B&A line at Monson Junction, about eight or nine miles southwest of Sebec Lake.
However, the Monson hauled slate from the slate mines above Monson, not wagon wheels. Also, I cannot find a Caribou Stream or Ray's Mill in that area.
Do you have any further recollections of that area?
