The rails between Parlin and the Woodstock curve were taken up in 1923, but as late as 1942, there were rails in place for a couple of miles west of Alpine Tunnel. Quotations from a trip taken in 1945 seem to indicate that by that time the only rails in place were trapped under the west portal snowshed remains, and those were in place at least until 1961. Therefore, I suspect that lots of track material was scattered around the right of way for years.
