I need to post a clarification. The Number 40 was not run in the corner at the steam up. It was several notches in from the corner. I don't remember which notch it was in. The Johnson Bar was not changed during the trip. Since the train was on a downhill grade at the passenger loading area it could be started with the engine notched up.
