Greg,
You are certainly intitled to your opinion. We can agree to disagree. Let me quote your prior post. "I would think that another railroad would be willing to lease one of them for an extended period of time. To justify the expense of travel and liability exposure. If something like that could be worked out the insurance would fall under the host railroad that would be leasing the locomotive". (unquote) That's what prompted my response about no sale or leasing of these locomotives. Running at Railfest for a few days with #20 or #346 isn't even close to a lease or sale. Ex: Operating Goose #2 at the 2000/2001 Railfests is a great example. It may seem I'm being "High and Mighty", but when you have a 30+ year, hands on relationship with #20, #346, #318, all three geese and every other operating and non-operating piece of equipment at the CRRM, You grow very protective when many, many, well meaning people want to pull or suggest this equipment should run(under new ownership or lease) on some other railroad) Actually, Greg your suggestions are really conservative compared to some of the hundreds of ideas people have given, both at the Museum and the 2 posting sites about what the Museum should do with their equipment. If your curious about who I am, E-Mail me direct at
RGSSTEAM@scancolorado.com I have no desire to get into a "whizzing" contest with you, but I, like you, am only giving my opinion.
