John,
The lights I am speaking of are those on the front of a locomotive, smokebox positions. So, I suppose these should be called "locomotive class lamps"? I am not quite sure at the distinction between the 2 types of lamps. I believe that the class lamp on the locomotive indicates the train's "status" (Extra, 1st/2nd section) and that a marker lamp is to mark the end of the train, such as on the end of a caboose or passenger coach. Are these correct distinctions between the 2 types? Thanks for everyone's help and input.
