SL&RG rare mileage gone

A friend wrote recently that the Alamosa to Antonito passenger service was discontinued account the track did not come up to passenger standards for the FRA.
Did any readers here get to ride any of the trains and connect to the Toltec Limited? Would like to read their trip report of passenger comments.
How may trip were made of this rare mileage for the history book before it was cut off? How many tickets were sold? There had been many who posted here that they should run train from Alamosa to Chama, and even went so far as suggest the installation of the 30 miles of inner rail.
Is there any plans to upgrade the track and try again to built the passenger service over these boring 30 miles of flat track?
I give the SL&RG great credit for trying to develop a operation that could help the C&TS and feel sorry it did not seem to catch on.
How is the passenger count developing on the La Veta trains?
