Does anyone know when the K-28s got their doghouses? From a little research all I can find is that they got them sometime around 1940. 474 appeared to have its by at least 1939, my guess is because it worked the frieghts rather than passenger trains. The others worked frieghts on the Santa Fe Branch as well as the Silverton and Farmington lines from the late 20's and more into the 30's. Why did they not get them earlier? I know they were considered passenger locomotives but they did handle their fair share of frieghts.
