Just a tidbit I picked up in an old C&TS Dispatch - the last five C&TS cars (517, 520-523) were built at a cost of $118,000 - $121,000 each. Not at all in the same line of workmanship as Dan's project - they're built on standard-gauge flatcars, with freight trucks - but it'll give you a reference.
