In 1930, Porter built a trio of 3" gauge Mikados for use in Guatemala. They were construction nos. 7168-7170. These machines had an engine weight of 147,000 lbs. with 110,000 lbs. on the drivers. They were all ultimately assigned to the Pacific Division & favored for helpers on Palin Hill oput of Escuintla with its 16 miles of 3.7%. I believe that all 3 are gone now, but 154 was active into the early 70's...I ran her as a rear helper on a passenger train in November, 1971.
These 3 would have compared favorably in size with some of the Porter logging Mikes.
