Mr. Berie Watt was up about two weeks ago and brought us a reworked turret valve, and some new tri-cocks. Little 12 proudly wears Backshop Enterprises's 100th air compressor, complete with brass (Gold) steam cylinder jacket.
Boiler washout plugs were overhauled, new shoes installed, injectors have been tweeked, firing valve removed, cussed and rebuilt. Copper piping and gaskets anneeled, several hydros, for repair testing and state inspectors. Master Mechanic and ageing toboggan pilot, Roger Williams was going to fire her up yesterday to see what needs further attention.
Since Virginia City was largely settled by Southerners, if it wasn't for the last minute not much would get done.
If for some reason she isn't going to polish rail this weekend I'll let you know.
BTW if you run in to Steve Cristy, have him e-mail me. I have crossing lights, masts, equipment sheds, etc. for the SV that we need to take down and move. Idaho DOT has blessed our request,now come the work.
