....you can fly to Whitehorse and simply rent a car and drive a couple of hours via good paved highways. Been a couple of years, but I don't remember the airfare or the car rental as being any higher than folks often pay to chase trains in the lower 48. While the White Pass is tough to "motorcade", having a car does provide a few opportunities, especially if you don't mind hiking and meeting a few (grizzly?) bears. Well worth the trip.
