Dick's pictures are from the Old 100 Mine Tour that is open in Cunningham Gulch out of Howardsville. I'm not sure the origin of that 2' gauge stock, some is from the Idarado mine, some from other mines. There is a 3' gauge "motor" and several cars from the main haulage tunnel of the Sunnyside Mine on display in Silverton next to the new display building at the jail museum. The engine is operational.
The main haulage tunnel at Gladstone was 2 miles long and 3'. All the feeder lines in the working tunnels were a smaller gauge, and I'm not sure if it was 18 or 24". What's left of the haulage line is about to be scrapped, including switches, and I believe that our local historical society is in line to get the material. Any trackage in the main part of the mine is still there, but all under water as the main portal has been sealed and the mountain is filling up with water.
About 18 or so years ago, the D&S track crew spent a winter up here working on the main line tunnel for Sunnyside. Equipment was brought up and placed in service inside the mine, and because of clearance problems and lack of ballast, it was quite a chore.
