Bill, it sticks in my mind that they mostly used C-16s. The Pitkin branch was sold, along with the Baldwin branch, to the DRGW not too long after the C&S pulled up stakes after and abandoned the Alpine Tunnel. It's possible that a K-27 might have wandered up there, but I'd say it was very doubtful. The D&RGW had better uses for what was then their big power. They would have used that better on Marshall Pass and Cumbres Pass.
