Earl ,I took a photo of the Whitehead Gulch flume in 1967.I don't rightly remember any information about a tank at Kendall Creek ,but I remember vaguely something about it . I also hear there was a stand pipe at the Mineral Creek bridge ,but am not sure about that either . I will have to look at some old timetables . 470s boiled about 3000-3500 gallons going from Needleton to Silverton and back. Occaisonally we asked the Silverton Fire Department to fill a tender or two each summer w hich they graciously did . In the early 1980s the D&SNG bosses talked of reinstalling the flume and spout at Whitehead but nothing came of it . One concern was one of the two streams quit running in dry years .I think if E&P # 4 could make it up to Silverton so could #42 or 315 . It may .as you say ,need some assist at Silverton .
