Without starting a flame war, I was interested to note that the ridership for 2005 was only about 65,000 which was a considerable percentage less than the 80-90,000 which Railstar and the CHS had planned for. The blame game is just starting up again but that isn't what concerns me. Because of the shortfall (over $200,000 in revenue) certain maintenance and upgrades are being put off or delayed until March-April.
The #9 is now slated to show up at Georgetown sometime in April if I read it correctly. Certain maintenance on #12 has been delayed but this isn't supposed to be a problem. Hmmmm......
After riding the Loop last year and seeing what Railstar had been able to do, I was impressed (and quite a bit relieved!) Of course, what happens next will have as much effect on the future of the Loop as the funding issues with Colorado does with the C&TSRR! It's going to be an interesting year.
