Dear Chester, DVV, John Craft, et cetera,
Your creating many laughs back channel. “I now know who you are”. Do you guys feel stupid yet? Maybe you will when I remind you that I strongly doubt that you have ever seen the classic rare hard cover book “Bell, Whistle in Old Perry”, but have confronted me anyway. I doubt DDV has it as he often speaks of his poverty, and Chester admitted that he did not have the “Sherman Valley” book. So their only grounds on taken sides with Jim and Gary are personal venom. That speaks highly for them, as they are not looking at a comparison of the photos as I did. There are good reasons why the market will pay $125+ for the book. The “Sherman Valley” book quality is less than “Superior Publishing” of the old days. The sub-quality I saw was in the failure of the printing process and not related to the condition of the photo. I have some prints of the original photos and know what they looked like before publication.
But I am puzzled why respected John Craft would feel the need to chime in, as he is a good friend of a co-author associate of mine. Being on the West Coast I also question if John has both books to compare and see what I explained.
And Chester, have you figured out your stupid statement that two DSP&P engines were sold to the Deerfield River RR that did not exist before 1906? The DSP&P was long gone years before that company was formed.
