Kevin, I have to agree with the other poster that it is not a good career move to trash the respected General Manager of a railroad when your goal is to work in that industry. Especially on this message board.
You didn't ask for advice, but here is an idea for future job interviews. Before you drive thousands of miles to seek work, inquire before leaving home whether jobs are available and determine if you meet the qualifications. Then arrange for an interview with the General Manager before leaving home so you'll know when to show up.
Your passion for this field is obvious. Understanding the business side of the industry is just as important as loving the railroad.
