I just graduated but if I was still in school and found t-shirts with those logos on them at the mall i'd sure as hell by some and wear them proudly. In Junior high liking trains was considered childish. Then once in high school the attitude changed and it was like "oh alright man thats cool". Just as long as I didn't take the conversation so far as trying to explain to them how injectors worked or how to do a running gear over haul they were somewhat interested and if I showed interest in what they wanted to do for a living after school. By my senior year, kids that I didn't talk to often at all were asking me in the halls "hey Bush you still gonna go work on trains?!".
After a while it became somewhat of a joke though because between Junior and Senior year, I had said "im going to go work for the Cumbres & Toltec in New Mexico". Then it changed to the Nevada Northern which I got close to doing, I had no chance in Chama...I don't think I was well liked there (drive a thousand miles for an interview that I didn't get, damned near ripped old Kim a new for that). Then it became Black Hills Central, then Oregon and now finally i've settled down and stuck with the BHC. I think i'll really enjoy it there too.
Are those even shirts John? I'm guessing they are advertising what logos you can get on shirts if you walk into the store? I need some good railroad shirts.
Thanks,
Kevin Bush
